The Bee Foundation’s Annual Scotland Run Golf Tournament
After a solid week of rain, Reese Stern, the organizer of our annual Scotland Run Golf Tournament, had his doubts that the weather was going to deliver. But deliver it did, and on June 4th 60 golfers hit the course on a perfect day for our 3rd annual tournament. The day delivered for us too, raising over $22,000, breaking last year’s record and exceeding the goal for 2018’s event.
“It’s always a great day to kick back with some friends while raising funds for a great cause. We especially enjoyed the complimentary beverage cart sponsored by Hartford funds and the “Bees Knees” signature cocktail. Looking forward to next year!” noted 3rd-time golfer Geoff Barber.
The event, made possible by our sponsors, Hartford funds, Flexential, CDW & Fortinet, and included an awards luncheon and a recap of achievements. Major highlights included: 6 Preventative Research Grant Awards, significant lobbying achievements on Capitol Hill and more than $800,000 raised since 2014, enabling increased awareness and preventative research efforts.
Congratulations to our big winners of the day:
Longest Drive – Matt Hesketh
Closest to the Pin – Steve Craig
First Place – Mike Ricciardi, Joe Latta, Chris Lee & Geoff Burroughs
Second Place – Dave Marcinowski, Matt Genesio, Tim Sipe & Greg Grimm
Third Place – Mike Brown, Brad Tanner, Bob Garis & Steve Kraus
And a big Congratulations to Matt DeJesus from Flexential, first-time sponsor, and winner of both raffle prizes: the Apple Watch & TBF Golf Gear Package!
Overall, we’re so glad we were able to come together to raise awareness and funds for a cause that is so dear to our hearts. As we work to continue research and preventative measures, it’s important to be able to have a fun time while continuing to rally financial support for those efforts. Our thanks go out to everyone that came and participated and had fun at this awesome event, and we hope to see you all next year.
