In 2020, the world lost a bright star when Annie Mirra passed away at the young age of 29 due to complications from brain aneurysm surgery. Her memory lives on through the love of her family and friends, who are dedicated to honoring her spirit and making a difference in the fight against brain aneurysms.
This year, on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at 11 am, a special gathering took place at Penfield Beach Pavilion. Family and friends, along with supporters from all over, came together for the 3rd Annual Virtual 5K Fundraiser in support of The Bee Foundation.
The day was not just about a race; it was a heartfelt tribute to Annie, a celebration of her life, and a powerful statement of unity in the battle against brain aneurysms.
Registrants for the 5K were greeted with a heartfelt welcome, knowing that their participation was contributing to a critical cause. All registrants received a commemorative race tee-shirt and some fantastic swag, underscoring the sense of community and shared purpose.
The virtual format allowed participants from various locations to come together in spirit, if not in person. People laced up their running shoes and set out on their own 5K routes, carrying the memory of Annie with them every step of the way.
Annie’s story is a reminder of the devastating impact of brain aneurysms, but also of the resilience and determination of those who choose to make a change. The funds raised during this event will go toward crucial research and awareness initiatives, bringing us one step closer to a world without the threat of brain aneurysms.
It’s not just about a single race; it’s about a community bound by a shared commitment to prevent this silent and potentially deadly condition. As we run, walk, and remember, we honor Annie’s memory and work towards a brighter, aneurysm-free future.
This event was a testament to the power of love, remembrance, and the collective effort to make a change. We thank everyone who participated, donated, and supported this meaningful cause. Your contributions are helping to turn tragedy into hope and saving lives in honor of Annie and all those affected by brain aneurysms.
As we look forward to the future, let us remember Annie’s spirit and continue the fight for brain aneurysm prevention and awareness. Together, we can make a difference and ensure that fewer families experience the pain of losing a loved one to this devastating condition.
Please continue to follow The Bee Foundation on social media, share our mission, and help us raise funds and awareness to combat this silent killer. Together, we can create a world where brain aneurysms are a thing of the past.
Thank you for being part of this vital journey. Your support truly matters.
