Raising Awareness: Sydney Meltzer Shines a Light on Brain Aneurysm Prevention for Her Senior Project

At a time when many students are exploring traditional topics for their senior projects, Sydney Meltzer, a Social Media Intern at The Bee Foundation, took a bold and impactful route—choosing to dedicate her capstone work to raising awareness about brain aneurysms in honor of her Aunt who passed away from a brain aneurysm. Her project, titled “Brain Aneurysm Awareness,” is not only a testament to her passion and dedication but also a powerful example of youth-driven advocacy in action.

She confidently presented her project, emphasizing the importance of early detection, prevention, and the vital role organizations like The Bee Foundation play in saving lives. Her presentation was both informative and moving, highlighting all the work she has done this past month: Ambassadors Retreat, Advocacy Day, and traveling to Washington D.C. to visit Capitol Hill to fight for increased brain aneurysm research.

Sydney’s involvement as a social media intern and her decision to spotlight the Foundation in her project underscore how today’s youth can be powerful agents for change.

Her work not only educated her local community but also added to the growing national conversation about brain health, research funding and aneurysm prevention. From leveraging digital platforms to connecting with peers, Sydney’s efforts exemplify the very heart of The Bee Foundation’s mission: to create a world where brain aneurysms are prevented, not just treated.

We’re incredibly proud of Sydney for using her voice to make a difference and for choosing to advocate for a cause that impacts so many lives. Her dedication reminds us that awareness starts with a single voice—but with enough support, that voice can echo far and wide.
