I Discovered a 3cm Unruptured Brain Aneurysm after Noticing a Crossing in My Eyes. Jho-an Paulin’s Story

I’m Jho-an Paulin, a 44yrs old from Bristol United Kingdom. Early in 2021 I noticed that my right eye was crossed and I didn’t know why. I didn’t get checked until April at Specs Savers. My vision doubled so the person recommended me to see my Doctor. Due to lock down/covid everything was very slow and it was hard to get an appointment so my GP recommended me to Bristol eye hospital. The Neurologist from the eye hospital requested for me to get MRI scan immedJHO-AN PAULINiately It was August 27.

After 4 days, I got a result and it was confirmed. A large / 3cm brain aneurysm. I was shocunruptured brain aneurysmked, luckily it’s un-ruptured. I went to the hospital on the following day. I was confined and stayed in the hospital for 20 days. I’ve done all the blood tests and the angiogram test was awful. It was very painful.

September 24, 2021 was my surgery, coiling procedure. I slept for 4hrs. Thank God the surgery was successful. There were no complications so after one week they discharged me.

My recovery period was good at home I’m still having on and off headaches due to my crossed eye/double vision. I continue to have eye hospital appointments. I don’t have any treatment yet for my eye, just observations hoping it will be healed normally. I’m still taking paracetamol and codeine for headaches. My next MRI test is on March 6 months after the surgery, fingers crossed everything’s gonna be fine.
