PHILADELPHIA – A nonprofit organized to reduce deaths caused by brain aneurysms is launching its first fundraiser Saturday.
The Bee Foundation was formed by a pair of sisters in memory of their 27-year-old cousin, Jennifer Sedney, a certified health coach who died unexpectedly from a ruptured brain aneurysm last December.
An estimated one in 50 people have a brain aneurysm, according to the Brain Aneurysm Foundation. Half of fatalities are among those under age 50.
The inaugural gala, auction and fundraiser, “The Honey Bash,” will raise money for research and awareness. The gala will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Hotel Monaco in Philadelphia. Tickets are $125. […]
