Elizabeth Bohland’s Story

March 12,2021 is a day I will never forget. Thank God my husband was home and sitting next to me when I suddenly sat strait up in bed and falling to the floor seconds later. Although I don’t remember much, I know that my head felt like it was going to explode. I remember not being able to see and saying things that made no sense, sweating, and seeing things that were not there. My husband called 911 and the ambulance was only 2 minutes away, I was bleeding on my brain for approximately 6 hrs again thank God. I truly believe that if I would of had to wait any longer I would not be here today to tell my story. I went from ambulance strait to CT scan and from there to a helicopter waiting for me.

I was flown to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis Indiana. There was a team of neurologist waiting for me and the next thing I knew I woke up in ICU. I spent 10 days in ICU and a total of 19 days in the hospital.

Today I’m doing good. I suffer from headaches, balance issues, and depression but I’m alive and back to work in my nursing career and thank God everyday when I open my eyes. So far my neurologist don’t see any problems with my CT scans and I see him every 6 months.

My husband was suppose to leave that evening but he said to me, “Hunnie I’m not going your to sick.” If he would have left and the ambulance was not so close, I would not be here today.
