Dr. Michael Chen

Michael Chen, MD is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery at Rush University Medical Center. He received his medical degree in his home state at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine. His training consisted of neurology residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital, a stroke fellowship at Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and an interventional neuroradiology fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Chen's practice focuses on caring for patients with brain and spinal cord vascular disease with a particular emphasis on brain aneurysms. He has been awarded research grants, invited to speak at national and international meetings, and is an associate editor for the Journal of Neurointerventional Surgery. He has recently served on the Rush University Medical Staff Executive Committee. He is most interested in research that is relevant, patient-centered, outcomes-based, and can be done with minimal latency.
