Join AKPSi in proudly supporting  The Bee Foundation, a national non-profit dedicated to brain aneurysm research and awareness.

  Jenny

The organization was inspired by Jenny Sedney, a 2008 University of Michigan graduate and AKPSi-er who died in December, 2013 from a ruptured brain aneurysm.

At the time of her death, she was working in Philadelphia for health care consulting firm Vynamic, and in her free time had become a certified health coach to help others become, in the words reflected on her health blog,  the Well Nest, “ Bee Curious, Bee Radiant, Bee Well.”  The Bee Foundation was created with that spirit by her family and friends to make an impact on this devatatingly underserved medical condition.

In 15 months, The Bee Foundation has raised over $270,000 enabling the organization to further it’s mission.  In 2015, The Bee Foundation awarded its first preventative research grant to Dr. Aichi Chien from UCLA to investigate factors related to brain aneurysm ruptures. Funds raised will be dedicated to awareness campaigns and a 2016 research grant.
