In Loving Memory of Brittany McCarthy
Brittany McCarthy was a vibrant young woman whose life was cut short far too soon. She was known for her kind heart, infectious smile, and dedication to helping others. Brittany’s family and friends have channeled their grief into action, organizing this annual event to honor her memory and raise awareness about the dangers of brain aneurysms. Through their efforts, they hope to fund research that could save lives and prevent other families from enduring such a devastating loss.

A Community United for a Cause
The morning began with participants gathering at Wolfe’s Pond Park for registration at 8:30 AM. The event featured an officially timed 5K run and a 1-mile walk, accommodating both competitive runners and those who wished to take a more leisurely pace. Spirits were high as the runners set off at 9:30 AM, followed shortly by the walkers.
The atmosphere was one of unity and determination, with participants of all ages coming together to support a cause that had touched them deeply. Trophies were awarded to the 1st and 2nd place finishers in both male and female categories, while medals were given to the top three finishers in each age group. The competitive spirit was strong, but the sense of community and shared purpose was even stronger.
Throughout the event, attendees enjoyed complimentary breakfast, pizza, and snacks, which helped fuel their efforts on the course. Swag bags and commemorative tee-shirts were provided to all participants who had registered by August 23, 2024, serving as a lasting reminder of the day and the cause they supported.

Supporting the Future with Every Step
The Brittany McCarthy Memorial Run/Walk was not just about honoring Brittany’s memory—it was about making a tangible difference in the fight against brain aneurysms. Thanks to the generosity of those who participated, we raised almost $25,000 for The Bee Foundation, with all proceeds going directly to fund preventative research. This research is crucial in our mission to save lives and spare other families the heartbreak of losing a loved one to a brain aneurysm.
